Abstract

Masyarakat manggarai merupakan komunitas local yang memiliki beragam budaya, tradisi, adat istiadat yang kompleks dalam kegiatan social kemasyarakatan. Namun, Sebagian masyarakat tidak memahami tradisi yang hidup sejak nenek moyang terdahulu yang hingga saat ini aktif dan masyarakat selalu melakukan ritualisasi sebagai bentuk pelestarian budaya local dalam perkawinan. Tujuan kajian dalam artikel ini adalah untuk menjelaskan sosio-kultural tradisi wedi ruha dalam perkawinan masyarakat Manggarai. Penelitian ini study etnhografi. Subyek penelitian dalam penelitian ini adalah berjumlah 6 orang yang terdiri atas 1 tokoh adat, 1 tokoh agama, 1 tokoh pemuda, 1 kepala desa dan 2 orang pelaku budaya wedu ruha. Pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi, interview mendalam dan analisis dokumentasi. Analisis data menggunakan tahapa pengumpulan data, reduksi data, verifikasi data, dan penarikan simpulan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa nilai budaya dalam kebudayaan Wedi Ruha dalam masyarakat Manggarai telah berkembang lama di masyarakat desa, sehingga adanya tradisi wedi tuha ini memiliki nilai-nilai sakral dalam perkawinan adat, nilai agama, nilai kesusilaan, dan nilai kebahagiaan. Nilai sociocultural dalam budaya local wedi ruha dalam Masyarakat manggarai adalah nilai kebersamaan, nilai gotong royong, dan nilai kebahagiaan. Sosio-kultural dalam tradisi perkawinan masyarakat manggarai memiliki kontribusi pada aspek kebersamaan, gotong-royong dan kebahagiaan. 

 

The Manggarai community is a local community that has a variety of cultures, traditions, and complex customs in social activities. However, some people do not understand the traditions that they have lived since their previous ancestors who are active until now, and the community always performs ritualization to preserve local culture in marriage. The purpose of the study in this article is to explain the sociocultural tradition of Wedi Ruha in the marriage of the Manggarai community. This research is an ethnographic study. The research subjects in this study were six people consisting of 1 traditional figure, one religious’ figure, one youth figure, one village head, and two Wedi Ruha cultural actors. Data collection using observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation analysis. Data analysis uses data collection, reduction, verification, and conclusion stages. The results of this study show that cultural values in Wedi Ruha culture in Manggarai society have long developed in village communities. Hence, this wide tradition has sacred values in traditional marriages and religious, moral, and happiness values. Sociocultural values in the local culture of Wedi Ruha in the Manggarai Society are the value of togetherness, mutual cooperation, and happiness. Sociocultural, the marriage tradition of the Manggarai community has contributed to aspects of togetherness, cooperation, and happiness
