EDUKASI KESEHATAN SEBAGAI UPAYA OPTIMALISASI PENCEGAHAN STUNTING PADA BALITA

Abstrak: Stunting merupakan gangguan pertumbuhan fisik yang ditandai dengan penurunan kecepatan pertumbuhan dan merupakan dampak dari ketidakseimbangan gizi. Stunting merupakan satu masalah gizi di Indonesia yang belum terselesaikan. Stunting akan menyebabkan dampak jangka panjang yaitu terganggunya perkembangan fisik, mental, intelektual, serta kognitif. Penyuluhan kesehatan dan identifikasi sejak dini penting untuk dilakukan guna menekan angka kejadian stunting pada anak usia pra sekolah yaitu usia 3-6 tahun. Telah dilakukan kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat yang dilaksanakan di Desa Jagran Kecamatan Karanggeneng Labupaten Lamongan. Metode kegiatan ini dilakukan melalui kegiatan edukasi kesehatan menggunakan pendekatan peer group dengan sasarannya adalah orang tua, guru dan murid Sekolah Taman Posyandu. Kegiatan dilakukan secara bertahap diawali dengan proses pendekatan, identifikasi faktor resiko stunting dan pemberian edukasi pencegahan stunting sejak dini. Hasil identifikasi faktor resiko stunting menunjukkan ibu belum sepenuhnya memenuhi kebutuhan gizi anak secara lengkap untuk pencegahan stunting, namun melalui proses edukasi diharapkan adanya pemahaman tentang pencegahan dan faktor resiko terjadinya stunting.
Abstract:Â Stunting is a physical growth disorder characterized by a decrease in growth speed and is the impact of nutritional imbalances. Stunting is an unresolved nutritional problem in Indonesia. Stunting will cause long-term impacts, namely disruption of physical, mental, intellectual, and cognitive development. Health education and education from an early age are important to do in order to reduce the incidence of stunting in pre-school children aged 3-6 years. Community service activities have been carried out in Jagran Village, Karanggeneng District, Kabupaten Lamongan. This activity method is carried out through health education activities using a peer group approach with the target being parents, teachers and students of the Taman Posyandu School. The activity is carried out in stages starting with the approach process, stunting risk factors and the provision of stunting prevention education from an early age. The final result of stunting shows that mothers have not fully met the nutritional needs of children for stunting prevention, but through the process it is hoped that there will be an understanding of prevention and risk factors for stunting.
