Abstract

Abstract: Skills that are needed in a competitive era and have become one of the indicators of academic achievement are complex problem solving, namely activities to identify complex problems, evaluate, review factual information and build rational interpretations for the formation of effective solutions. The purpose of this study was to determine the enhancement of complex problem solving of junior high school students on the material of similarity and congruence through the integration of the traditional Bugis phinisi boat. The type of research used is descriptive quantitative research to systematically describe students' complex problem-solving abilities. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling and selected students of class IX at one of the public junior high schools in Bone Regency with a total of 30 students. The instruments used in the study included tests of students' complex problem-solving abilities which were then analyzed using descriptive statistics. The results showed that the complex problem solving of junior high school students on the material of similarity and congruence increased in each indicator after the integration of the traditional Bugis phinisi boat in the learning process was applied. The increase that occurred reached a percentage of up to 88% which was in the high category.
