MODEL MENUMBUHKAN NILAI MULTIKULTURAL PADA PEMBELAJARAN IPS DI SMP KOTA MATARAM

Abstrak: Keberagaman budaya di lingkungan sekolah seringkali memicu adanya konflik antar pelajar. Oleh karenanya perlu adanya strategi untuk meminimalisasi konflik dengan menumbuhkan nilai multikultural pada siswa. Model menumbuhkan nilai multikultural ini diterapkan pada siswa SMP se Kota Mataram. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui proses pemahaman siswa SMP Kota Mataram tentang nilai-nilai multikultural. Guna memudahkan siswa dalam memahami nilai-nilai multikultural, maka penelitian ini menggunakan media pembelajaran IPS sebagai media sosialisasi nilai-nilai multikultural. Prosedur penelitian yang dpilih berupa penelitian R & D. Teknik analisis data R & D meliputi kegiatan tiga tahap (studi), yaitu tahap pendahuluan, tahap pengembangan, dan tahap validasi. Hasil dalam penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa selama ini banyak siswa yang merasa bosan dengan proses pembelajaran IPS. Oleh karenanya, menumbuhkan nilai multikultural pada pembelajaran IPS ini menggunakan metode belajar yang lebih menyenangkan dengan pendekatan student centered. Simpulan dari hasil penelitian ini adalah upaya menumbuhkan nilai multikultural pada siswa SMP Kota Mataram dilakukan dengan cara mengintegrasikan nilai multikultural ke dalam mata pelajaran IPS melalui proses pembelajaran dengan bantuan model bahan ajar nilai multikultural pada pembelajaran IPS.
Abstract: Cultural diversity in the school environment. Therefore it is necessary to have a strategy to minimize conflict by growing multicultural values in students. This model of growing multicultural values is applied to junior high school students in the City of Mataram. The purpose of this research is to study the process of understanding the students of Mataram City Middle School about multicultural values. In order to assist students in understanding multicultural values, this study uses social studies learning media as a medium for socializing multicultural values. The chosen research procedure consisted of R&D research. R&D data analysis techniques included three studio (study) activities, namely preliminary studies, development studies, and validation studies. The results in this study indicate that so far many students feel bored with the social studies learning process. Therefore, growing multicultural values in social studies learning uses learning methods that are more fun by utilizing student centered. The conclusions of the results of this study are efforts to foster multicultural values in Mataram City Junior High School students by integrating multicultural values into social studies subjects through the learning process with the help of multicultural values teaching material models in social studies learning.
