TAU NUWA SEBAGAI RITUS INISIASI DIRI BAGI KAUM PRIA DEWASA DALAM MASYARAKAT ADAT RENDU

Abstrak: Tau nuwa merupakan suatu ritus inisiasi diri atau ritus pengukuhan bagi anak laki-laki dewasa yang sudah berkeluarga menjadi dewasa secara adat, karena secara biologis seorang laki-laki meskipun sudah dewasa dan sudah pula berkeluarga, namun masih terbilang belum dewasa secara adat, sehingga hak-hak adat yang harus diperankan oleh seorang laki-laki dewasa seperti menjadi pemimpin atau pemandu upacara adat tidak boleh dijalankannya. Yang menjadi permasalahan dalam penelitian ini adalah: 1) Bagaimanakah proses pelaksanaan ritus inisiasi tau nuwa pada masyarakat adat Rendu, dan 2) Makna apa sajakah yang terdapat dalam ritus inisiasi tau nuwa pada masyarakat adat Rendu? Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: 1) Mengungkapkan proses pelaksanaan ritus inisiasi tau nuwa pada masyarakat adat Rendu. 2) Mengungkapkan makna yang terdapat dalam ritus inisiasi tau nuwa pada masyarakat adat Rendu. Penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian kualitatif dan jenis penelitian deskriptif. Tekhnik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Dan tekhnik analisis data dilakukan melalui reduksi data, pemaparan data dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ritus tau nuwa masih tetap dilakukan oleh masyarakat adat Rendu khususnya kaum laki-laki dewasa yang sudah berkeluarga supaya dapat melakukan segala kewajiban yang berhubungan dengan berbagai kegiatan adat dalam masyarakat. Ritus inisiasi tau nuwa bagi masyarakat adat Rendu memiliki makna antara lain makna religius, makna kebersamaan dan makna persaudaraan.
Abstract:  Tau nwa is a rite of self-initiation or a rite of passage for adult men who are married to become adults based on the tradition itself. It is said that the confirmation of adult men who are married to become adults according to tradition, because biologically a man, even though he is an adult and has a family, is still not mature according to tradition, so that the customary rights that must be played by a man He is an adult and has a family, such as being a leader or guide for traditional ceremonies, he is not allowed to carry out. The problems in this research are: 1) How is the process of implementing the tau nuwa initiation rite in the Rendu indigenous community? 2) What are the meanings contained in the tau nuwa initiation rite of the Rendu indigenous people? This study aims to: 1) Describe the process of implementing the tau nuwa initiation rite in the Rendu indigenous community. 2) Expressing the meaning contained in the tau nuwa initiation rite in the Rendu indigenous community. This research uses qualitative research and descriptive research type. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation, interviews and documentation. And the data analysis technique is done through data reduction, data exposure and conclusion drawing. The results show that the tau nuwa rite is still carried out by the Rendu indigenous people, especially adult men, in the sense that they are already married so that they can carry out all obligations related to various traditional activities in the community. The tau nuwa initiation rite for the Rendu indigenous community has meanings, including religious meaning, the meaning of togetherness and the meaning of brotherhood.
