Abstract

Abstrak:

Penelitian ini mengungkap media sosial sebagai media alternatif manfaat dan pemuas kebutuhan informasi di masa pandemik global Covid 19 menggunakan Analisis Teori Uses and Gratification. Ada dua permasalahan dalam penelitian ini yaitu apa sajakah peran penting manfaat dari media sosial yang diberikan di masa pandemic Covid-29 dianalisis menggunakan Teori Uses and Gratification  dan bagaimana media sosial dapat menjadi pemuas kebutuhan pilihan masyarakat dalam proses komunikasi massa dianalisis menggunakan Teori Uses and Gratification. Untuk menjawab pertanyaan tersebut peneliti menggunakan metode penelitian kuantitatif dengan pendekatan analisis teori Uses and Gratification. Dari 50 orang sample acak di instagram menunjukkan hasil bahwa 80% orang menyetujui bahwa media sosial bermanfaat sebagai sosial informasi, 93%  orang  menyetujui media sosial sebagai media informasi Covid 19, 83%  orang  menyetujui bahwa informasi di media sosial dapat membantu sesama, 80%  orang menyetujui bahwa media sosial mampu memuaskan sebagai pelarian dari rutinitas dan masalah pribadi di masa Covid-19, 85% menyetujui media sosial dapat memuaskan dalam pencarian informasi Covid-19 dan 92% menyetujui bahwa informasi di media sosial memuaskan untuk melakukan sesuatu.

 

Abstract:

This study reveals that social media as an alternative media of the uses and satisfaction of information needs in the global pandemic Covid-19, based on analysis of Uses and Gratification Theory. There are two problems in this research which are what are the important roles of the benefits of social media given during the pandemic Covid-19 analyzed using by Uses and Gratification Theory and how social media can be a satisfying choice of people’s needs in the process of mass communication analyzed using by Uses and Gratification Theory. To answer those questions researchers used quantitative research methods with the analysis approach to the theory of Uses and Gratification. From 50 people random sample in Instagram showed the result that 80% of people agreed that social media was useful as social information, 93% of  people  agreed to social media as information media Covid-19, 83% of  people agreed that information on social media could help others, 80% of  people  agreed that social media was able to satisfy as an escape from routine and personal problems during the Covid-19 period, 85% agreed that social media could be satisfying in information seeking Covid 19 and 92% agreed that information on social media was satisfying to do something.
