Abstract

ABSTRACT

Family Medicinal Plant (FMP) is Primary Health Care (PCO) that is potentially used during the COVID-19 pandemic. Guava, lemongrass, moringa, and agarwood are FMP that could be easily found in Tanjung Karang Sub-district. However, the use of these FMP in raw materials could not be well accepted by Tanjung Karang society, especially children. Thus, mothers as leaders on PCO should be processing those FMP raw materials into a product which their children could accept. One of those products is herbal tea. This community service aims to train TOGA cadre in Tanjung Karang to process FMP raw material into herbal tea products. This community service program is divided into two phases: theoretical phase and practical phase. Participants were given theory about the medical effect of FMP, FMP maintenance, and FMP processing into herbal tea products. Participants were trained to process FMP leaves from guava, lemongrass, moringa, and agarwood into herbal tea products on the practical phase. This processing method used five steps procedures to make herbal tea products. Step1: leaves selection, step2: leaves sterilization, step3: leaves drying, step4: leaves chopping, step5: leaves brewing. It could be concluded that participants could process FMP leaves (guava, lemongrass, moringa, and agarwood) into herbal tea products with a standardization processing method.
