Abstract

Abstract:  This study aims to determine the effect of implementing RME  on increasing mathematics learning achievement of fifth grade students of SD Negeri 08 Kasipute, especially the material properties of shapes and the relationship between shapes. The research method used is the class action research method (CAR) with the subject of class V students with a total of 22 students. . While in the second cycle, from the results of the evaluation test, the average value of the students was 70.23 with a good category. The results also show that the Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) approach can improve students' learning achievement, as evidenced by the test results of students before the first cycle of learning achievement increased by 45.45%, while from the test results of students from cycle I to cycle I. II learning achievement of students increased by 45.46%. In the first cycle the average test score is 44.77 with classical completeness of 45.45% and in the second cycle the average test score is 70.23 with classical completeness of 90.91%.
