Abstract

Abstract: Islamic boarding schools are an institution that is known to be able to shape the religious character of students and other characteristics such as the independent character of students, the existence of a boarding school in the development of the world of Islamic education continues to grow today, each Islamic boarding school has a variety of different educational characteristics following the objectives of Islamic boarding school education itself. This study focuses on the educational strategy implemented at the Al-Islam Agricultural Technology Islamic Boarding School in shaping the character of students' self-reliance through entrepreneurship programs. This study aims to describe the educational strategy implemented at the Al-Islam Agricultural Technology Islamic Boarding School in forming the independent character of the students through the entrepreneurship program at the Islamic Boarding School. This research is field research with a qualitative approach. Data collection techniques were obtained through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results showed that the strategy of Islamic boarding schools education in the context of forming the character of self-reliance of students through entrepreneurship programs in the form of businesses covering the fields of Agriculture, Fisheries, Animal Husbandry, Laundry businesses, Student canteens, Student shops and "As-Salam" refill drinking water. Efforts to establish independence through entrepreneurship programs built by the Islamic boarding school itself are managed and regulated orderly. The independent character of the stude is formed through a strong discipline strategy, exemplary practice, habituation practices, training, and supervision to produce the independent character of the student such as an independent character in managing time, independent character as a leader, independent character in managing his business and duties, independent in life, self-confident, responsible, future-oriented, creative, and dare to take risks.
