PEMANFAATAN DAUN MANGROVE JERUJU (ACANTHUS ILICIFOLIUS) SEBAGAI TEH HERBAL ANTI-KANKER ALAMI

Abstrak: Acanthus ilicifolius merupakan jenis mangrove sejati dan banyak dimanfaatkan sebagai bahan obat oleh masyarakat. Kurangnya pengetahuan masyarakat tentang potensi daun jeruju bagi kesehatan membuat pemanfaatan daun jeruju di Desa Margasari tidak optimal. Berdasarkan potensi dan khasiat yang terkandung dalam daun jeruju, salah satu cara untuk memanfaatakannya yaitu dengan pembuatan teh herbal. Pembuatan teh herbal daun jeruju sangat efektif untuk dikembangkan di Desa Margasari karena proses pembuatannya yang mudah dan keberadaannya yang melimpah sehingga memudahkan masyarakat untuk mendapatkannya tanpa harus mengeluarkan biaya banyak. Metode pembuatan teh herbal daun jeruju dilakukan melalui penyuluhan dan pelatihan langsung kepada masyarakat setempat. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini diharapkan dapat mengenalkan manfaat teh herbal daun jeruju dan menambah ketrampilan masyarakat untuk dapat mengolah dan mengemas produk dengan baik. Masyarakat yang menjadi partisipan dalam kegiatan ini adalah warga Desa Margasari, Labuhan Maringgai, Lampung Timur. Para peserta pelatihan didominasi ibu rumah tangga berjumlah 27 orang dan 3 orang laki-laki. Kemampuan masyarakat menyerap dan memahami materi, untuk selanjutnya melaksanakan setiap langkah dan tahapan kerja sesuai dengan prosedur yang diberikan. Dari kegiatan ini diperoleh hasil berupa produk teh celup sebanyak 4 kotak kemasan yang sudah dikemas dalam kemasan yang menarik.
Abstract: Acanthus ilicifolius is a true mangrove species and is widely used as a medicinal ingredient by the community. The lack of public knowledge about the potential of Jeruju leaves for health makes the use of Jeruju leaves in Margasari Village not optimal. Based on the potential and properties contained in Jeruju leaves, one way to use them is by making herbal teas. Making jeruju leaf herbal tea is very effective for development in Margasari Village because the manufacturing process is easy and its abundance makes it easier for people to get it without having to pay a lot of money. The method of making Jeruju leaf herbal tea is carried out through direct counseling and training to the local community. This community service activity is expected to introduce the benefits of Jeruju leaf herbal tea and increase community skills to be able to process and package products properly. The people who participated in this activity were residents of Margasari Village, Labuhan Maringgai, East Lampung. The training participants were dominated by housewives totaling 27 people and 3 men. The community's ability to absorb and understand the material, to then carry out each step and stage of work in accordance with the procedures given. From this activity, the results were obtained in the form of 4 teabags which were packed in attractive packaging.
