Aktivitas Antibakteri Fraksi Etil Asetat Dari Propolis Lebah Kelulut Geniotrigona thoracica Terhadap Bakteri Staphyloccocus aureus

ABSTRAK
Kalimantan memiliki setidaknya terdapat 50 spesies lebah kelulut, diantaranya lebah kelulut dengan spesies Geniotrigona thoracica. Lebah kelulut selain menghasilkan madu dengan rasa asam, jenis ini juga menghasilkan produk utama yaitu propolis. Propolis secara empiris memiliki aktivitas antioksidan, antikanker, antijamur, antiinflamasi, antivirus dan juga anti bakteri. Namun penelitian tentang propolis jenis G. thoracica masih terbatas. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui aktivitas antibakteri Staphyloccocus aureus dari fraksi etil asetat dari propolis lebah kelulut G. thoracica asal Samarinda. Ekstrak metanol propolis G. thoracica dilakukan fraksinasi cair-cair dengan pelarut etil asetat dan pelarut polar. Pengujian antibakteri dilakukan dengan metode difusi sumuran menggunakan bakteri S. aureus. Hasil uji antibakteri yang dilakukan menunjukan fraksi etil asetat propolis G. thoracica mampu menghambat pertumbuhan bakteri S. aureus. Aktivitas antibakteri terbaik diperoleh pada konsentrasi 600ppm yaitu dengan zona hambat 13 mm. Fraksi etil asetat propolis G. thoracica asal Samarinda memiliki aktivitas antibakteri terhadap bakteri S. aureus dengan kategori kuat

ABSTRACT
Kalimantan were have at least 50 species of kelulut bees, including the kelulut bee with the species Geniotrigona thoracica. The kelulut bee produces honey with a sour taste, and also produces propolis. Propolis commonly use as antioxidant, anticancer, antifungal, anti-inflammatory, antiviral and also anti-bacterial. The research about G. thoracica propolis still limited. This study aims to determine the antibacterial activity of the ethyl acetate fraction of G. thoracica propolis originated from Samarinda which can inhibit Staphyloccocus aureus bacteria. The methanol exctract of G. thoracica propolis was partition with liquid-liquid fractionation using ethyl acetate and polar liquid. Then, antibacterial was determined with agar well diffusion method. The results of the antibacterial test showed that the ethyl acetate fraction of the propolis G. thoracica were able to inhibit the growth of S. aureus bacteria, indicating that they have broad spectrum antibacterial activity. The highest antibacterial activity was obtained at 600ppm concentartion with an inhibition zone of 13 mm. The ethyl acetate fraction of G. thoracica propolis from Samarinda has antibacterial activity against S. aureus bacteria.
