EDUKASI ATM BANK UNTUK MENCEGAH SINDROM METABOLIK

Abstrak: Sindrom metabolik merupakan kumpulan gangguan metabolik yang dapat meningkatkan angka kesakitan dan kematian, oleh karena itu diperlukan pemahaman dan kesadaran masyarakat untuk mencegah penyakit sindrom metabolik. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat (PKM) ini bertujuan memberikan edukasi dan pemeriksaan skrining untuk mencegah sindrom metabolik. Peserta PKM ini adalah ibu-ibu PKK Karangjati RT.07 Bangunjiwo Bantul Yogyakarta berjumlah 40 orang. Kegiatan PKM meliputi senam bersama, edukasi, serta skrining sindrom metabolik. Dari 40 orang peserta PKM diketahui 20 orang memiliki risiko tinggi mengalami sindrom metabolik yang ditandai dengan adanya obesitas, peningkatan tekanan darah, hiperkolesterolemia, dan hiperglikemia. Hasil nilai pre-test dan post-test menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pemahaman dari 7,5% menjadi 85%peserta PKM tentang sindrom metabolik.
Abstract: Metabolic syndrome is a collection of metabolic disorders that can increase morbidity and mortality, therefore public understanding and awareness is needed to prevent metabolic syndrome. This community service activity (PKM) aims to provide education and screening tests to prevent metabolic syndrome. The PKM participants are PKK Karangjati women RT.07 Bangunjiwo Bantul Yogyakarta totaling 40 people. PKM activities include body exercise, education, and screening examinations. There were 20 PKM participants who had a high risk of experiencing metabolic syndrome which was characterized by obesity, increased blood pressure, hypercholesterolemia, and hyperglycemia. The results of the analysis of pretest and posttest scores according to educational materials showed an increase in the understanding of PKM participants about the metabolic syndrome.
