PENINGKATAN KETERAMPILAN KELUARGA DALAM DETEKSI DINI DIMENSIA DI KOTA MATARAM

Abstrak: Menurunnya kemampuan melakukan aktivitas sehari-hari pada lanjut usia karena hilangnya kapasitas intelektual pada kognitif dan kepribadian, menurunnya daya ingat, berpikir, serta berperilaku. Pemeriksaan neurologi di Posyandu Lansia belum pernah dilakukan karena terbatasnya tenaga kesehatan. Berdasarkan analisis situasi, permasalahan yang dihadapi mitra yaitu keluarga dan lanjut usia belum tahu gangguan kognitif dan kepribadian pada lanjut usia, sehingga beresiko terjadi gangguan aktifitas sehari-hari pada lanjut usia. Pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk (1) Memberikan pengetahuan kepada keluarga dan lanjut usia mengenai Dimensia; dan (2) Meningkatkan keterampilan keluarga dan lanjut usia dalam deteksi dini Dimensia melalui senam otak dan menggambar. Metode yang digunakan dalam pengabdian ini berupa penyuluhan dan pendampingan oleh tim pengabdian dengan materi berupa (1) Pengenalan Dimensia; (2) Pengenalan senam otak; dan (3) Pengenalan peran keluarga pada penderita Dimensia. Mitra pengabdian ini yaitu keluarga dan lanjut usia di Lingkungan Majeluk Kelurahan Pejanggik Kota Mataram. Jumlah peserta sebanyak 35 Kepala Keluarga dan lanjut usia dengan evaluasi berupa pre-test dan post-test. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa peningkatan pengetahuan 5.68 dan peningkatan keterampilan keluarga dan lanjut usia sejumlah 36.24 tentang deteksi dini Dimensia, sehinga keluarga mampu melakukan deteksi dini Dimensia serta meningkatkan peran serta keluarga dalam perawatan dan kemandirian lanjut usia.
Abstract: Loss of intellectual capacity in the elderly in cognitive and personality, decreased memory, thinking, behaving, and the ability to carry out daily activities. Neurological examination at the Elderly Posyandu has never been carried out due to the limited number of health workers. Based on the situation analysis, the problems faced by partners, namely families and the elderly, do not know cognitive and personality disorders in the elderly, so the risk of disruption of daily activities in the elderly. This service aims to (1) provide knowledge to families and seniors about dementia; and (2) Improving family and elderly skills in early detection of dementia through brain exercises and drawing. The method used in this service is in the form of counseling and assistance by the service team with material in the form of (1) Introduction to Dementia; (2) Introduction to brain gymnastics; and (3) Introduction of the role of the family in people with dementia. The service partners are families and seniors in the Majeluk Environment, Pejanggik Village, Mataram City. The number of participants was 35 heads of families and seniors with pre-test and post-test evaluations. The results of the activity show that there is an increase in knowledge of 5.68 and an increase in family and elderly skills in the number of 36.24 regarding early detection of dementia, so that families are able to carry out early detection of dementia and increase family participation in the care and independence of the elderly.
