PELATIHAN MICROSOFT EXCEL BERBASIS METODE NUMERIK UNTUK MENINGKATKAN KEMAMPUAN PEMECAHAN MASALAH MATEMATIS MAHASISWA

Abstrak: Penerapan matematika terjadi di setiap bidang, termasuk dalam bidang teknik sipil. Persoalan matematika yang rumit diselesaikan dengan menggunakan metode numerik. Namun, proses penyelesaian menggunakan metode numerik cukup menyita waktu sehingga membutuhkan microsoft excel. Dengan demikian, tim PKM melaksanakan pelatihan microsoft excel berbasis metode numerik untuk meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis mahasiswa. Kegiatan ini melibatkan 26 mahasiswa program studi teknik sipil Unika Santu Paulus Ruteng. Kegiatan dilaksanakan berdasarkan kebutuhan mahasiswa dan melalui tahapan-tahapan, yaitu presentasi materi, diskusi, dan pemberian tugas. Sebagai bentuk monitoring dan evaluasi, kegiatan ini memberikan pre-test dan post-test dengan menggunakan soal uraia sebanyak 5 (lima) nomor untuk mengukur kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis. Kegiatan ini juga melakukan penyebaran angket melalui 15 (lima belas) pernyataan untuk mengetahui kualitas pelaksanaan pelatihan. Kegiatan ini dapat membantu meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis mahasiswa. Hal ini dapat dilihat dari hasil pre-test mahasiswa yaitu kategori sangat kurang (37,12) dan hasil post-test mendapat kategori baik (83,27). Kualitas pelaksanaan kegiatan juga sangat baik karena memiliki rata-rata 4,764.
Abstract: The application of mathematics occurs in every field, including in civil engineering. Complex math problems are solved using numerical methods. However, the completion process using the numerical method is quite time-consuming, so it requires Microsoft Excel. Thus, the PKM team carried out Microsoft Excel training based on numerical methods to improve students' mathematical problem solving skills. This activity involved 26 students of the civil engineering study program at the Catholic University of Santu Paulus Ruteng. Activities are carried out based on student needs and through stages, namely presentation of material, discussion, and giving assignments. As a form of monitoring and evaluation, this activity provides pre-tests and post-tests using 5 (five) numbered descriptive questions to measure mathematical problem-solving abilities. This activity also distributed a questionnaire through 15 (fifteen) statements to determine the quality of the training implementation. Based on the test results and filling out the questionnaire, it was concluded that this activity can help improve students' mathematical problem solving abilities. This can be seen from the results of the student pre-test, which is in the very poor category (37.12) and the post-test results get in the good category (83.27). The quality of activity implementation is also very good because it has an average of 4,764.
