Abstract

Abstrak : Corona Virus Disease 19 atau COVID-19 disebut sebagai wabah oleh World Health Organization (WHO) dan ditetapkan sebagai pandemi oleh Indonesia berupa infeksi penyakit yang menular dan perlu mendapat perhatian khusus dalam mengambil langkah-langkah strategis dalam penanggulangannya secara nasional yang melibatkan komponen masyarakat. Dari beberapa kelompok rentan atau beresiko tinggi penularan COVID-19 ini, salahsatunya adalah anak-anak, salahsatu tempat berkumpulnya anak-anak yang paling sering dan berkapasitas banyak adalah sekolah dasar. Tujuan dari kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan siswa dalam pencegahan penularan COVID-19. Metode Pelaksanaan Kegiatan ini adalah pemberian materi tentang pencegahan penularan COVID-19 melalui pendidikan kesehatan. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan di Aula Sekolah Dasar Negeri 18 Kota Pekanbaru Provinsi Riau dengan peserta 5 orang wali kelas dan 20 orang siswa perwakilan kelas 4 dan 5 yang menjadi dokter cilik. Hasil dari kegiatan ini adalah terdapat peningkatan pengetahuan tentang pencegahan penularan COVID-19 dari 100% berpengetahuan rendah menjadi 75% berpengetahuan tinggi.


Abstract: Corona Virus Disease 19 or COVID-19 is referred to as an outbreak by the World Health Organization (WHO) and is determined as a pandemic by Indonesia in the form of infectious diseases and needs special attention in taking strategic steps in its national response that involves community components. Of the several vulnerable groups or at high risk of transmission of COVID-19, one of them is children, one of the most frequent and high capacity gathering places for children is primary school. The purpose of this dedication activity is to increase students' knowledge in preventing COVID-19 transmission. Method of Implementation This activity is providing material on preventing COVID-19 transmission through health education. This activity was carried out in the 18th Elementary School Hall, Pekanbaru City, Riau Province, with 5 homeroom participants and 20 students representing grades 4 and 5 who were young doctors. The result of this activity is that there is an increase in knowledge about the prevention of COVID-19 transmission from 100% low knowledge to 75% high knowledge.
