PENDIDIKAN KESEHATAN DAN PEMBERDAYAAN MASYARAKAT SEBAGAI UPAYA PENCEGAHAN PENULARAN COVID-19

Abstrak: Pandemi Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) merupakan masalah baru dalam kehidupan masyarakat, selain sebagai penyakit baru, penyebaran dan penularannya begitu cepat. Desa Sumbertebu sebagai desa dengan banyak fasilitas umum memiliki risiko tinggi terjadinya penularan COVID-19. Untuk itu kegiatan pendidikan kesehatan dan pemberdayaan masyarakat dalam upaya pencegahan penularan COVID-19 menjadi penting untuk dilakukan. Tujuan kegiatan ini sebagai salah satu bentuk pengabdian masyarakat yang dilakukan oleh dosen dan mahasiswa Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Kesehatan (STIKES) Majapahit untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan kesadaran masyarakat dalam upaya pencegahan penularan COVID-19. Kegiatan pendidikan kesehatan dan pemberdayaan masyarakat ini dilakukan dengan metode Participatory Learning and Action (PLA). Tahapan kegiatan yang dilaksanakan yaitu tahap observasi, pre-test, pendidikan kesehatan, pembagian 1000 masker, penyemprotan cairan disinfektan di fasilitas umum, dan post-test. Kegiatan dilaksanakan dalam waktu 3 bulan. Hasil yang didapatkan adalah meningkatkan pengetahuan masyarakat tentang COVID-19 dan upaya pencegahannya. Hal ini tampak pada hasil evaluasi pengetahuan masyarakat yaitu 65% berada pada kategori sedang sebelum diberikan pendidikan kesehatan, dan 75% berada pada kategori tinggi sesudah diberikan pendidikan kesehatan.

Abstract: Pandemic Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) is a new problem in people's lives, apart from being a new disease, the spread and transmission are so fast. Sumbertebu Village as a village with many public facilities has a high risk of transmission of COVID-19 to the community. For this reason, health education and community empowerment activities to prevent the transmission of COVID-19 are important to do. The purpose of this activity is as a form of community service carried out by lecturers and students of the Majapahit College of Health Sciences to increase public knowledge and awareness in efforts to prevent COVID-19 transmission. These health education and community empowerment activities are carried out using the Participatory Learning and Action (PLA) method. The activity stages carried out were the observation, pre-test, health education, distribution of 1000 masks, spraying of disinfectant fluids in public facilities, and post-test. Activities carried out within 3 months. The results obtained are increasing public knowledge about COVID-19 and efforts to prevent it. This can be seen in the results of the evaluation of public knowledge, namely 65% are in the medium category before being given health education, and 75% are in the high category after being given health education.
