Abstract: The lack of students' geographical spatial abilities can be caused by the less optimal use of spatial media (maps) in learning. The involvement of students in making maps will help them improve their spatial abilities. This community service activity aims to optimize the use of geographic information systems to improve students' spatial abilities through cartographic art training. Training activities use the method of counseling, question and answer, and workshops. Participants who took part in the activity were 29 students of SMP Negeri 5 Jayapura. The activity results showed an increase in students' spatial geography skills, where 86% of students were skilled in map making after attending the training.
