Abstract

Abstract: This community service program is carried out at Surya Gemilang Kindergarten, Malang City, where English is taught at the introduction level. The teacher teaches students simple vocabulary. However, teachers often teach some pronunciations incorrectly. This discrepancy is influenced by the phonological interference of the teachers' mother tongue and the absence of some English sounds in Indonesian. It results in improper modeling. To overcome this problem, the community service team aims to help Surya Gemilang Kindergarten teachers in Malang to teach English pronunciation using Hijaiyah consonants and vowels, which are already familiar to students. The program is carried out in three stages; (1) initiation, where the service team and teachers discuss the program implementation planning, (2) implementation: workshops, teaching training, and development of IT-based media, and (3) Presentation and Evaluation. This activity trains teachers to teach students English pronunciation using Hijaiyah letters and interactive media. Based on the results of the Paired Sample T-test for the value of Sig. (2-tailed) is 0.002 < 0.05, it can be concluded that the teacher's performance in teaching English has increased, especially in the accuracy of pronouncing vocabulary in English.
