Abstract: Â Sports achievement motivation is an important thing that must be owned by a student athlete. This is because student athletes are required to be able to balance their obligations as students in class and are also required to excel in sports, including during the COVID-19 pandemic. The purpose of this study is to describe the achievement motivation of student athletes during the covid-19 pandemic. The research method used is quantitative research. This research is a research using saturated sample technique. The number of samples is 115 student athletes who are students as well as athletes who have competed in the National Student Sports Week. The age range of the subjects of this study was 15-19 years. The instrument in this study, the sports achievement motivation, which was developed based on Smith's opinion, contained two aspects, namely achievement thoughts in sport and achievement behaviors in sport. The data analysis technique in this study used descriptive statistics. The results of the study showed that the average level of achievement motivation for student athletes was 33.5 (male athletes valued at 32.35 and female athletes valued at 33.75). This can be interpreted that the achievement motivation of student athletes is in the high category. The high motivation for sports achievement is supported by external and internal factors. One of them is the existence of a degradation system so that it raises the motivation of athletes to continue to excel in the field of sportsReferences
