PENINGKATAN PRESTASI BELAJAR SISWA MELALUI MEMBACA DENGAN MODEL PEMBELAJARAN ASISTENSI (ASSISTED LEARNING)

Abstrak: Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk meningkatkan minat dan prestasi belajar membaca mata pelajaran bahasa Indonesia siswa kelas VII SMP melalui model pembelajaran asistensi. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK). Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan pembelajaran dengan metode pembelajaran asistensi mampu meningkatkan motivasi anak untuk gemar membaca sebesar 46,6% dan 1,5% atau rata-rata meningkat 24 %. Dengan melihat antusiasme anak dalam membaca menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran dengan metode pembelajaran asistensi mampu meningkatkan motivasi anak untuk gemar membaca dengan peningkatan 24% perbulan. Peningkatan prestasi belajar siswa dari siklus awal terhadap siklus akhir menunjukkan peningkatan sebesar 10% dan 8% atau rata-rata 9%. Kesimpulan yang diperoleh dalam peneltian ini adalah sebagai berikut: (1) Penerapan metode assistensi meningkatkan minat terhadap pelajaran membaca Bahasa Indonesia sebesar 24% dan (2) Prestasi belajar membaca siswa dengan pemberian metode asistensi meningkat sebesar 9%.

Abstract: The purpose of this study was to increase the interest and learning achievement of reading Indonesian language subjects of class VII SMP through the assistance learning model. This research method uses classroom action research (CAR). The results of this study indicate that learning with the assistance learning method was able to increase the motivation of children to love reading by 46.6% and 1.5% or an average increase of 24%. By looking at the enthusiasm of children in reading shows that learning with assistance learning methods can increase children's motivation to love reading with a 24% increase per month. Increased student learning achievement from the initial cycle to the final cycle showed an increase of 10% and 8% or an average of 9%. The conclusions obtained in this study are as follows: (1) The application of the assistive method increased interest in Indonesian language reading lessons of 24% and (2) Learning achievement in reading students with giving assistance methods to increased by 9%.
