PENINGKATAN PENGUASAAN KONSEP LINGKARAN DENGAN METODE PENEMUAN BAGI MAHASISWA

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan pembelajaran dengan menerapkan metode penemuan sebagai upaya untuk meningkatkan penguasaan konsep garis singgung lingkaran mahasiswa. Jenis penelitian ini adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK). Sumber data yang yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa semester III jurusan pendidikan matematiaka UM Mataram yang mengikuti kegiatan pembelajaran. Data yang dikumpulkan antara lain berasal dari: (a) hasil pekerjaan mahasiswa secara tertulis, (b) hasil wawancara, (c) hasil observasi dan hasil catatan lapangan. Peningkatan penguasaan konsep mahasiswa dapat dilihat dari hasil tes belajar dan aktivitas mahasiswa selama proses pembelajaran. Hasil penelitian dilihat dari hasil observasi dan hasil tes akhir siklus. Hasil observasi menunjukkan bahwa yang dilakukan pada kategori sangat baik. Dari hasil tes akhir siklus persentasi ketuntasan klasikal sebesar 94% yang menujukkan bahwa dapat membangun kemampuan pemahaman analisis matematika mahasiswa tentang konsep lingkaran.
 Abstract:  This study aims to describe learning by applying the discovery method as an effort to improve mastery of tangent concepts. This type of research is Class Action Research (CAR). The data sources used in this study were third semester students in mathematics education department who participated in learning activities. Data collected include: (a) results of student work in writing, (b) results of interviews, (c) results of observations and results of field notes. Improved mastery of student concepts can be seen from the results of learning tests and student activities during the learning process. The results of the study are seen from the results of observations and the results of the final cycle test. The observation results show that what is done in the category is very good. From the results of the final test percentage of classical completeness of 94%, that showing that it can build the ability to understand student mathematical analysis of the concept of circles.Â
