Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  • If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.

Author Guidelines

Applied Microorganisms Activity (AMA): Health Sciences Faculty of Muhammadiyah University Mataram welcomes manuscripts in the form of research results in the field of Pharmacy (Natural Materials Pharmacy, Microbiology, Clinical Pharmacy). Authors need to pay close attention to various regulations and provisions imposed by Applied Microorganisms Activity as follows:

  1. Authors must ensure that the article to be submitted is in line with the focus and scope of Applied Microorganisms Activity: Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences.
  2. The article to be submitted has not been published before and is not currently in process in other seminars or journals.
  3. The submitted article complies with the style of Applied Microorganisms Activity: Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences (please use the provided template).
  4. Each author's name listed in the article is written correctly, accompanied by affiliation and email.
  5. Authors submit the manuscript for submission to Applied Microorganisms Activity: Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences, meaning authors have agreed to share copyright with Applied Microorganisms Activity: Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences.
  6. Articles are written in proper and correct English; to reduce the risk, tools such as Grammarly can be used for English.
  7. The article should have a page count between 6 to 10 pages.
  8. The article should not contain bullet points and numbering.
  9. Authors should not add exceptions not specified in the template.
  10. Authors are advised to use reference management and formatting applications such as Mendeley, Zotero, and EndNote, with reference writing style using APA 6th Edition (American Psychological Association).
  11. Minimum of 10 references, with 80% from primary sources (nationally/internationally accredited journals), strongly recommended to use references from the last 10 years.
  12. To facilitate the use of the article, use the provided template by copying and pasting the text into the template, then select the provided styles in the ribbon style section.

Notes:

  1. Ensure the email used for communication and online access is active (preferably connected to a smartphone).
  2. Include a contactable phone number when registering an account; this will be used for correspondence and confirmation regarding the status of articles that have been pending for a long time.

    MANUSCRIPT FORMAT

    TITLE

    The title should be concise and clear (maximum 15 words), highlighting the research subject/variables indicating novelty. Avoid using phrases like "case study" or "effect." The title should be in Sentence case (capitalized at the beginning of the title). The manuscript title should be typed in Cambria font, size 12 pt.

    AUTHOR IDENTIFICATION

    Author names are written in full (without titles). If an author has only one name, it should be repeated in the OJS system for both the first and last names, or the first name can be abbreviated with a period (.) and the last name written in full. Example: if the author is "Safwan," it can be written as "Safwan Safwan" or "S. Safwan." Author names should be typed in Cambria font, size 10 pt.

    Affiliations: Each author's name must be accompanied by affiliation. If multiple authors share the same affiliation, it should be mentioned only once. Affiliation format: Department/Faculty (comma) Institution (comma) Address City Postal Code (comma) Country. Author affiliations should be typed in Cambria font, size 8 pt.

    ABSTRACT

    The abstract should briefly and clearly state the research's objectives, methods, results, and conclusions. It should be written in proper English, avoiding uncommon terms. The abstract should not contain citations, formulas, tables, or figures. The word count should be between 150 to 200 words, using Cambria font, size 8 pt.

    Keywords: Extracted from the article, 3-5 informative, non-abbreviated keywords related to pharmacy/health. Keywords should be typed in Cambria font, size 8 pt.

    INTRODUCTION

    The introduction should include the background, research urgency, and analysis of existing studies. It should clearly state the research objectives. The introduction should be concise, not exceeding two pages, and should not include tables or figures. Typed in Cambria font, size 10 pt.

    METHOD

    The methods used should be clear, including data and analysis methods for optimal results. Equations can be used, with one main equation mentioned as a reference.

    RESULTS AND DISCUSSION

    Results and discussion should address "what?" presenting the research findings and their significance. The data presented should not be raw; scientific study and visualization should connect results to basic concepts. Comparison with other studies is encouraged. Results and discussion should be combined; no separate chapters. Write directly, citing relevant and preferably primary sources. Include necessary tables, figures, and graphs.

    CONCLUSION

    The conclusion should state the analysis results and answer the research objectives. It should be concise, clear, and written in one paragraph. Information available from related studies can be briefly explained in a new paragraph or within the conclusion section.

    ACKNOWLEDGMENTS (OPTIONAL)

    Express gratitude to those involved in the research, including financial support, permissions, consultants, and data collection assistance.

    REFERENCES

    References follow the APA style, with a minimum of 10 references, 80% from primary sources (nationally/internationally accredited journals), within the last 10 years.

    TABLE AND FIGURE WRITING GUIDELINES

    1. Tables and figures must meet paper requirements.
    2. Each table, figure, and graph should have a caption; table titles at the top, while figure and graph titles at the bottom.
    3. Tables and figures must be referenced in the body of the manuscript.
    4. Figures should have good resolution.
    5. For colorful figures without graph titles, the title should be placed below the figure name.
    6. Tables should not contain vertical lines; horizontal lines are sufficient.
    7. If a table spans multiple pages, give it the same title.
