ABSTRACT
Increasing age of the elderly will be accompanied by a decrease in the intrinsic capacity and functional capabilities of the body which has an impact on health and morbidity which is increasingly found in the elderly. Physical activity is known to have relevance to health status and is one of the lifestyle modification factors that can be done to reduce the development of dementia risk factors. The purpose of this community service activity is to increase the knowledge and skills of caregivers and the elderly about dementia and physical activity programs to reduce the risk of dementia in the elderly. The method of implementing community service activities is through program training which is carried out in several stages, including preparation, implementation and evaluation of activities. The targets in this community service activity were 4 caregivers and 25 elderly people. Evaluation of activities is carried out by giving pre-tests and post-tests as well as observing redemonstrations of physical activity programs by participants to determine the impact of community service activities carried out. The results of the service activities carried out showed that there was an increase in knowledge before and after the activity as well as an increase in skills in conducting practical simulations of physical activity programs by 82.75%. It is necessary to periodically monitor the results of training for caregivers to supervise and the elderly in the Rukun Senior Living Sentul that they can carry out physical activities regularly 3-5 days a week with frequency, intensity, type of exercise and duration according to the needs and conditions of the elderly.
