ABSTRACT
Indonesia has the second richest tropical forest in the world after Brazil, and its biological potential is a source of food and medicine with 25,000 to 30,000 plants that have the potential to be used as medicinal plants. However, the use of medicinal plants as medicinal ingredients, especially for the elderly in Indonesia, is still not optimal, as is the case in Pandansari Village. People in this village still often use over-the-counter medicines to treat health problems, while many medicinal plants in this village can be used. The purpose of this PkM activity is to assist elderly cadres by providing education about the use of family medicinal plants (TOGA) and making TOGA gardens. The PkM activities carried out include health education to cadres about the management and use of TOGA, cleaning up the way TOGA is used or utilized, and creating a TOGA plantation. The evaluation was carried out by conducting a pre-test and post-test on the cadre's knowledge of the use and management of TOGA. The results of this activity indicate that there has been an increase in knowledge and practice of using TOGA for the treatment of pain. The results of this activity show that there has been an increase in knowledge and practice of using TOGA for pain treatment. The evaluation results of elderly cadres' knowledge about TOGA and its use increased by 60.2% from an average score of 53 (poor category) to an average of 88 (good category). Likewise, the results of the evaluation of the ability of elderly cadres to practice using TOGA for joint pain also increased by 55.1%. In addition, this activity produces a TOGA garden that can be utilized by the community in overcoming health problems, especially joint pain in the elderly.
